Associate Engineer, Business Analytics Industrial Engineering
As an Associate Industrial Engineer at Universal Studios Hollywood, you will combine field observation with data-driven analysis to support operational improvements across our park and guest experiences. A typical day blends analytical work with time in the operation. You may evaluate labor and operational performance using data, then partner with frontline teams to test and implement process improvements in a live environment. You will help translate operational data into actionable insights that inform business decisions and drive measurable improvements across workforce management, process optimization, and overall operational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Analytics & Modeling Apply industrial engineering and analytical methods such as forecasting, process analysis, capacity analysis, and optimization techniques to support operational improvement initiatives Assist in developing and maintaining analytical models that support labor planning, staffing optimization, forecasting, and operational decision-making Analyze operational performance data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement Translate analytical findings into actionable insights and recommendations Field Studies & Data Collection Conduct on-site observational studies to evaluate operational processes, guest flow, and workforce performance Collect, validate, and analyze time studies, throughput data, and other operational metrics Combine field observations with data analysis to develop practical and implementable operational improvements Workforce Management Contribute to Workforce Management initiatives through labor planning analysis, staffing optimization, scheduling analytics, and demand forecasting Evaluate opportunities to improve labor utilization and operational efficiency Contribute to workforce management tools, reporting, and planning processes Tools, Reporting & Automation Extract, analyze, and validate data using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Python, Excel, and other cloud-based platforms Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools in Power BI and Excel to track KPIs and operational performance trends Participate in automation and workflow improvement initiatives that improve efficiency and data accuracy Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with cross-functional teams and operational leaders to implement process improvements Communicate insights and recommendations through presentations, reporting, and data visualization Assist in developing business cases and operational analyses for leadership review
