Fire Safety Technician
What You’ll Do Perform general fire safety inspections of all occupancy group classifications, proactive building inspections, and fire inspections for brush abatement and document findings Enforce and maintain fire safety policies and procedures for studio operations Inspect and evaluate buildings and job sites and issue permits for Hot Works operations Perform Hot Work job spot checks, document results, and Fire Watch duties as assigned Ability to use and train others in the use of a Thermal Imaging Camera Assist with maintenance and notifications on Fire/Life Safety system impairments as required by FM Global Assist with the supervision of testing and certification program for all building fire/life safety systems and document process and findings Perform fire safety permit inspections for issuance of special permits Inspects public displays and gatherings and document findings and recommendations Attend classes, seminars and conferences in order to remain abreast of all current codes, ordinances and best practices in the field of fire prevention, fire safety and the motion picture industry Investigate cause and origin of fires and recommend policies and procedures to remediate dangerous conditions that lead to fires, as well as documenting reported fire hazards Maintain records, files and documentation to ensure compliance with local jurisdictional and company requirements. Prepare reports as needed. Function as a member of the studio Disaster Response Team and or Emergency Operations Center team as required Provide fire prevention and safety education to large groups, employee fairs, or other special events Work nights and weekends as required
