The Senior Manager, Technical Accounting will play a key role in executing Versant’s technical accounting strategy, supporting the development and consistent application of accounting policies, and evaluating complex transactions for proper accounting treatment. Reporting to the VP, Technical Accounting & Policy, this position will partner with Controllership, FP&A, Legal, and External Reporting to ensure Versant remains compliant with U.S. GAAP and SOX requirements.

The Role: Preferably based in Los Angeles, this role is ideal for an experienced music executive, who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is excited to roll up their sleeves, solve novel challenges, and create smart, scalable processes. At its core, the role will oversee music matters across Versant’s businesses, including building internal policies and processes, negotiating music clearance and library agreements, creating new ways to exploit owned music, and servicing Versant’s business units with their music needs. This role reports to the SVP, IP & Music.

OVERVIEW This key role will be responsible for leading the finance support for the MSNBC & CNBC Digital and Non-TV businesses (Direct to Consumer, Digital Publishing, Events, Councils, Audio, and Select). This role will partner with senior leaders to execute the day-to-day priorities, lead various special projects, and be a thought partner for these high-profile businesses. This role will report to the SVP, News Finance.

The Role: The Counsel, Compliance will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the company’s ethics and compliance program. This is a high-impact role responsible for partnering across the business to advise on compliance risks, support key compliance initiatives, and foster a culture of integrity and accountability. The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic, business-oriented legal professional with deep expertise in compliance, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. This position reports to the SVP, Chief Compliance Officer.

This role will provide strategic and practical legal counsel to the Company’s Human Resources professionals and business executives regarding labor relations matters, employment and benefits laws and support the overall employment legal group, as well as negotiate and draft employment agreements with executives and on- and off-air News and Sports talent. This will be a key role as we build the Labor & Employment group for a newly formed media company, Versant Media.

Based in our Los Angeles offices, this role is ideal for an experienced trademark analyst who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is excited to roll up their sleeves, solve novel challenges, and create smart, scalable processes. You’ll work on iconic existing brands and help launch new brands. You will work closely with senior legal and business leadership, providing critical support across trademark prosecution, clearance, and enforcement. The Responsibilities Manage a robust trademark filing portfolio, including prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement.
