Senior Financial Accountant

OVERVIEW An opportunity for a Senior Management Accountant (Senior Analyst level) to join our London team, supporting the Director, Controllership in a highly visible and influential role within the Universal Pictures Content Group. It’s multiplatform sales & distribution footprint includes theatrical, physical, digital (SVOD & Transactional), TV (Free & Pay) as well as consumer products. The business uniquely focuses on managing talents, partnerships, brands and titles across all rights and across their full lifecycle. It is a business rooted in Artists and repertoire (A&R) culture, driven by relationships, innovation and ambitious growth plans. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Monthly Close Processes: •Performing monthly journals, accruals, intercompany recharges and data requests as part of the monthly close process. •Review the balance sheet and address any reconciling items, assessing risk within the participation liability and film cost balances. •Leading Balance Sheet reviews, mid quarter reviews and Operational reviews with the LA HQ team. •Tracking development spend to ensure that it’s recognised in line with policy. •Preparation of the annual FCF budget and monthly FCF pacing. •Prepare production cost reports for any produced titles, keeping a track of any incoming production tax credits. Payment Process: •Managing the payments process and forecasting weekly investment spend by working closely with the Acquisitions, Development, Legal, Operations and Marketing teams. •Facilitating the P2P progress and addressing any issues with vendor set ups, changes and vendor master data. Compliance: •Leading the statutory audit process and liaising with internal and external auditors. Other: •Manage and support direct reports, overseeing performance, development, and team collaboration. •Supporting the wider business (non finance functions) in ad hoc queries and reporting requirements. •Managing various Stakeholders in Japan, LA and within the wider Content Group business. •Involvement in wider NBCU projects and finance system upgrade projects. •Proactively drive process improvement, simplification and elimination of non-value add tasks. •Working with other business functions including Tax, Stats Team, Payroll, P2P and Intercompany teams. •Working directly with our outsourced team in India.
