Vice President, Employment Law

NBCUniversal Labour & Employment Department NBCUniversal’s Labour & Employment Department employs over 50 lawyers globally across 5 different practice groups: Employment Law, Labour Relations, Employment Contracts, Immigration, Fair Employment Practices & Positive Employee Relations. The team outside the US has lawyers in the UK and Canada. Position Overview: The VP, Employment Law will provide employment law advice to NBCUniversal’s businesses in the UK, EMEA & APAC predominantly working with the Universal Destinations & Experiences and Corporate businesses. This role will be primarily based out of our London office, with regular travel to Bedford required. Responsibilities: Provide expert legal advice to HR, managers (including business leaders) and other internal lawyers, both within and outside the US, regarding the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues in the UK, EMEA and APAC. Development of employment policies, procedures and processes for both new and established operations, covering large employee populations in positions ranging from entry to executive level. Provide thought leadership, training and strategic guidance in respect of the impact of legislative changes on our operations. Guide, supervise and support the other employment lawyers in the team. Mentor and support lawyers within the wider labour & employment department demonstrating positive leadership to foster an inclusive, collaborative team culture. Show initiative to lead and drive the strategic objectives of the department. Develop best legal practices and ways of working within the department.
