Live Event Engineer - NBC Sports
NBC Sports is seeking a Live Event Broadcast Engineer to join our Remote Technical Operations and Engineering (RTOE) Department. The Live Event Broadcast Engineer will be responsible for providing technical broadcast engineering support specifically for live sporting events, ensuring seamless connectivity and integration with the NBC Sports Broadcast Center. The role includes deployment, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting of broadcast equipment and systems during live events, managing both NBC Sports owned equipment and third-party vendor systems. Responsibilities: Provide front-line engineering support specifically tailored to live television productions, ensuring flawless connectivity and integration with the NBC Sports Broadcast Center. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast equipment, including audio consoles, video switchers, intercom systems, encoders/decoders, and associated live broadcast and networking equipment. Coordinate and collaborate with external vendors to ensure successful integration and operation of third-party broadcast systems with NBC Sports equipment during live events. Deploy and operate live broadcast flypacks, mobile systems, and associated technical infrastructure. Maintain accurate records using internal software systems for tracking inventory, asset management, and procurement. Assist as needed with preparation and maintenance of Electronic News Gathering (ENG) equipment. Assist occasionally in live editing, transcoding, and file-based workflows. Work closely with logistics, production, and operations teams to plan, execute, and support live broadcast events effectively.
