Audio Producer, NBC News (PEP)

NBC News is seeking an experienced audio producer with strong editorial judgment who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom. This is an ideal position for a versatile, seasoned audio producer with a strong interest in news and current events to contribute to developing a new daily show. The producer will be expected to edit interviews in Descript and ProTools, or similar digital audio software. The producer will also be expected to jump in on any aspect of production as needed, from pitching stories and booking guests to drafting scripts and quickly writing sharp copy. Responsibilities: Helps guide shape and tone of episodes, via prep and support during interviews Cuts multiple interviews weekly and drafts strong editorial copy with speed and accuracy Pulls sound from NBC internal media systems and conducts interviews for soundbites Anticipates audio issues and production blockages and works with team to resolve Writes preparation documents and scripts Supports distribution of show, including drafting metadata Contributes to editorial planning of episodes Generates timely and informed pitches Contributes to booking and outreach as needed
