NBC News Digital is looking for an Assistant Video Editor to join its digital video production unit. The ideal candidate should have a wide technical fluency, aptitude for growth and be able to juggle multiple priorities and workstreams throughout the day. They should have a passion for storytelling, familiarity of the growing digital content creation landscape and be comfortable working in a multi-platform digital production environment. They will assist a team of video editors, graphics artists, operations staff and producers in the daily production of a variety of content to support NBC News’ digital video productions' efforts. They should be passionate about news and storytelling and should be ready for a face-paced environment. This position is represented by the News Guild – NY CWA. Job Duties Ingest and prepare media, including transcoding, organizing and syncing footage Perform basic video editing tasks; radio cuts, lifts, trims, reframes, versioning, social promos, and take on more straight-forward edit assignments Provide technical and operational support to editors as needed Prepare video content for distribution to partners and affiliates Manage and archive completed projects Help maintain templated project files, supporting documentation, and media libraries Manage multiple projects and communication between stakeholders, simultaneously, with tight deadlines
