Deputy Technology Editor, CNBC

CNBC Digital is looking for an experienced Editor to work with the Senior Editor helping to manage the technology-news team. The ideal candidate will know the industry inside and out, from Apple to AI to VCs. Some understanding of how media and entertainment are playing a role with the big tech companies would be useful. They will know how to direct coverage of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and other mega-cap tech companies. They will help reporters develop sources and understand the stories they should be covering. They may also get to do some original reporting or write smart analysis themselves. It is critical they are knowledgeable about markets and can work collaboratively with our TV network. They will have roughly five or more years of experience in daily news, with a proven track record of breaking news, writing, or editing long-form features and delivering high-quality, high-impact journalism. Should also be comfortable managing live blogs on a story that merits. Duties include: Editing breaking news in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Writing headlines with an eye toward SEO Experience editing fast-moving breaking news A clear understanding of style and grammar Helping writers frame stories for a national audience Mentor, coach, and empower both junior and experienced reporters
