Telemundo Arizona seeks an individual with a comprehensive understanding of television news production, outstanding writing and verbal communication skills, and experience in on-camera reporting. The candidate must also be able to work with news production and non-linear editing systems. Responsibilities This individual will manage shooting, lighting, writing, editing daily stories, and gathering material to build the story. Be able to set up, work, and manage live shots independently. Write, produce, and present fair, balanced, unbiased, and correct news and feature stories. Follow the ethics, news guidelines, and policies of NBCUniversal in journalism. Be well informed about news events locally and nationally. Develop and maintain a network of contacts providing access to exclusive stories. Investigate information to establish facts and determine truth. Handle providing on-air news in the studio and frequent field shoots. Draft stories, headlines, and news updates for television, online, digital, and social media platforms. File stories for our OTT (Over the Top) Platforms. Responsible for professionally presenting breaking news to viewers during live and outside regularly scheduled newscasts. Responsibilities also include keeping up with current events and news in our state. Send a daily email to the assignment desk with at least three enterprise story proposals. Able to make phone calls to set up interviews. These calls may happen outside of regular working hours to allow the candidate to show up prepared to present their pitches. Work cooperatively as a team member in a fast-paced environment and under tight daily deadlines. Multi-media journalists will be expected to participate in community and station events. From time to time, this person will also participate as an emcee and host as requested by the station. Able to respond quickly to breaking news and take direction from and interact with the assignment desk, producers, reporters, anchors, and production control room personnel. Follow news department protocols intended to execute excellence in journalism. Maintain technical equipment for optimal operating conditions, including company vehicles, cameras, and lighting gear.
