Director, Technical Accounting & Policy

Role Purpose: Reporting to the Vice President of Technical Accounting and Policy, the Director, Technical Accounting and Policy, will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This role will serve as a key resource for technical accounting issues, including the interpretation and application of accounting principles, standards, and regulations. The role will involve reviewing complex transactions, developing accounting policies, and providing guidance to both internal stakeholders and external auditors. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain company’s accounting policies to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards Analyze complex transactions and accounting issues, providing guidance on appropriate treatment and documentation Assist with the end-to-end implementation of accounting policies and best practices Proactively monitor, review, research and interpret GAAP and analyze emerging accounting pronouncements for policy/financial statement implications Develop interpretations and communications related to new accounting standards and ensure consistency across the organization Support accurate financial reporting across NBCU Review documents to identify accounting issues and propose solutions or alternatives Manage the research, documentation and accounting resolution for new and/or proposed transactions Consult with Comcast, business units and external auditors on technical accounting matters and the application and development of accounting policies Document and communicate the accounting for transactions Assist Comcast with developing responses to standard setters’ exposure drafts and other proposals Liaise with outside auditors on accounting topics and the adoption of new standards Assist in the preparation of financial reporting disclosures (MD&A and Footnotes) for new accounting standards and completed transactions Assist in ensuring compliance across organization of all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Other duties and projects as assigned
