Reporter

The Back Up Anchor/ Reporter will be responsible for presenting live broadcasts including newscasts, breaking news, and special programming. The Anchor/ Reporter must have a strong editorial background, follows current news events, contributes to the gathering of information for broadcast and can anchor with a high degree of skill. Generate story ideas, research, and write news stories. Present fair and accurate stories. Actively participate in daily editorial meetings with story pitches of interest to our viewers. Communicate with news producers, assignment editors, photographers. Stay informed regarding current events on a national and international level. Responsibilities Generate story ideas, research, and set up the content and interviews Research, write, produce, present fair and accurate stories Gathering and verifying news information and preparing for presentation on air Actively participate in daily editorial meetings with story pitches of interest to our viewers Develop and maintain contacts with community, political leaders and activists and key figures Develop enterprise and exclusive content Collaborate with producers, managers and photographers to conceptualize, write and produce stories Generate a wide variety of story ideas, research and set up the content and interviews Gather and verify information through interviews, observation and research Communicate with news producers, assignment editors and managers regarding story development, progress in the field and/or breaking news stories Stay informed regarding current events on a national, international and regional level Works under the direct supervision of the Executive Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor Covers other positions and shows as needed including specials, such assignments will be assigned by the Executive Producer
