Weather Associate

The News Associate Program is a 24-month high intensity program designed to develop entry-level media professionals. Participants in the program will work in a fast-paced newsroom within one of NBCUniversal’s Local Stations. The program will include a significant investment in training and coaching from some of the industry’s best. The right candidate will learn the skills necessary to develop into a successful reporter, producer or journalist, while experiencing the ultimate thrill of a newsroom. We are looking for a Meteorologist to anchor and produce weather segments across all content platforms, including on-air and the station’s website. Essential Functions/Responsibilities Gather and prepare weather information for on-air presentations in the local & regional newscasts and special reports outside of regularly scheduled newscasts. Provide creative ideas to showcase the weather segment in an informative and compelling manner. Employ strategy and engagement in social media and streaming including sending severe weather alerts/warnings. Provide input to newscast producers relating to the weather segments. Will need to be available to report for all severe weather situations.
