Position Overview We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Product leader to help us build the next set of innovative products for the news brands within Versant, the new spinoff from NBCUniversal. This is an exciting time to be joining a newly created product and tech unit that will support the ambitious digital goals of CNBC, MSNBC and E!Online. The Vice President, Product and Design will be responsible for helping craft the product strategy along with the CPTO and key stakeholders, use customer insights and data to come up with a set of features, build out a roadmap and then deliver against the agreed roadmap. They will lead and inspire a team of product managers, UX, design professionals as well as the customer experience / service team. This person must have a passion for digital or journalistic content and be a huge consumer of news and media. To succeed, this person will need to be equally fluent in the editorial, technical, and commercial worlds. Responsibilities Work with the CPTO and key stakeholders to craft a product strategy for each of the 3 brands (CNBC, MSNBC and E!Online) that is coherent and reviewed every 6 months to 1 year Use the business and product strategy to come up with feature ideas that are then tested with consumers or validated using existing data and insights Craft a roadmap of features that is both pragmatic but also ambitious and communicate that roadmap to stakeholders in a transparent way Work to move the roadmap from a set of deliverables and output to a set of outcomes that are clearly communicated to stakeholders so they can understand the value of product work Hire, motivate and performance manage a team of product managers, design and UX professionals as well as the customer experience / support teams Coordinate the roadmap with the technology team to ensure we are building features the right way, but also allowing time to build new capabilities, pay down technical debt and bug fix Ensure that the product and design work is rooted in customer insights Ensure creative problem solving by the product team so that solutions are provided and alternative approaches considered when trying to solve customer pain-points Ensure design and UX work is of the highest standards and has the right mix of customer understanding, taste-making and art of the possible
