Social Media Analyst
The Social Media Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding NBCUniversal’s talent, executives, brands, and productions from digital and physical threats. This position emphasizes expertise in social media research and monitoring, leveraging open-source intelligence (OSINT) to identify and assess potential risks. The analyst will conduct investigations into persons of interest, monitor global events, and provide actionable insights to support executive protection and crisis management efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with social media platforms, digital communities, and OSINT methodologies, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise assessments. This role demands discretion, analytical rigor, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Key Responsibilities: Social Media Monitoring & Analysis: Track and analyze social media platforms and digital communities to identify threats, negative sentiment trends, and potential security risks. OSINT Investigations: Conduct open-source investigations into persons of interest targeting NBCUniversal talent, executives, and brands. Event Impact Assessment: Monitor global events and incidents, assessing potential impact on NBCUniversal operations and personnel. Threat Reporting: Produce timely, accurate, and actionable intelligence reports for internal stakeholders, including senior leadership. Incident Response: Triage and respond to incoming security concerns from employees, talent, and executives via email and ticketing systems. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Cybersecurity, Messaging, Client Services, and other internal teams to support integrated security initiatives. On-Call Support: Participate in on-call rotations for escalated incidents involving high-risk individuals or large-scale threats. Process Improvement: Assist in developing and refining case management workflows, playbooks, and response protocols. Trend Awareness: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global security trends, social media behaviors, and emerging digital threats.
