The Position The Counsel, News, will serve as a media lawyer to the Versant News Group properties (MSNBC, CNBC and E! News), primarily on issues of newsgathering, broadcast and publication, and intellectual property.

This role will provide strategic and practical legal counsel to the Company’s Human Resources professionals and business executives regarding employment and benefit laws and support the overall employment legal group, as well as negotiate and draft employment agreements. This will be a key role as we build a legal employment group for a newly formed media company.

As a key member of the Labor & Employment Legal team, this role will lead all legal labor strategy and process, providing strategic advice and counsel regarding labor strategy and represent the Company in collective bargaining agreement negotiations. Other responsibilities include handling labor arbitrations, National Labor Relations Board matters and other related labor related litigation for the Company, as well as training and employee relation initiatives. In addition, this role will also support the overall employment legal group and advise on general employment matters.

The VP/Sr. Counsel of Executive & Talent Contracts and Employment Law will serve as a key member of NBCU’s corporate legal team and advise Senior Management and HR Partners across the Enterprise on all employment related legal and executive and talent contract matters. The Privacy Analyst position is part of the Legal Privacy team that reviews and provides guidance based on business requests for the collection and use of personal data in compliance with global privacy regulations In this position you will support the development and maintenance of Versant’s Legal Privacy program to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations, mitigate risk, and build trust with our customers and consumers. You’ll work cross-functionally with business units and contribute to strategic projects that advance our privacy practices and supporting technologies.

As a key member of the Legal Privacy team, this role will enable our business to develop and execute innovative data-driven strategies in accordance with data privacy and related laws. The successful candidate will effectively partner cross-functionally to provide expert and pragmatic counseling to senior leaders and provide leadership and subject matter expertise to drive the implementation of Versant's data privacy and information security programs. This role offers the unique opportunity to build the privacy and data security operations of a newly formed media company.
