The NBC News Washington Bureau offers paid full-time Desk Assistants (D.A.) positions year-round. Our Desk Assistant program is intended for individuals with a strong interest in television journalism – specifically network news and cable news. The positions provide excellent opportunities to learn the basics of reporting and production by observing and working with some of the best, most experienced news professionals at a major news organization. Our Desk Assistants’ positions are entry-level positions with benefits. Please note: The positions are staff with an end date (18 months).

As a Weekend Associate Producer at the NBC News Washington Bureau, you will play a critical role in the news organization’s Washington beat coverage. In this highly collaborative job, you will work closely with the news desk, beat correspondents and other producers on key shift. The Weekend AP will spend their time working between the Washington DC Bureau and key beats, with a focus on the White House and Capitol Hill. You should be willing to work flexible hours, days, and holidays, with a willingness to travel.

The NBC News Washington Bureau is seeking an Assignment Desk Editor to collaborate with the Washington, DC News Desk to execute NBC News coverage in DC and the surrounding region across all platforms including Nightly News, The Today Show, NBC News Now and NBCNews.com. This Assignment Editor should bring a passion for newsgathering and problem solving and be willing to work all aspects and shifts of a Network News Desk operation. Responsibilities: Ensure coverage of breaking news, scheduled events, pooled events, highly produced interviews, field anchoring and other production needs.

The NBC News Washington Bureau is looking for a highly motivated Researcher with a passion for news on all platforms (broadcast, digital, and mobile). In this position, you will work directly with the Washington Assignment Desk Managers, producers, senior producers, and correspondents. The Assignment Desk Researcher will collaborate with other desk editors to execute NBC News coverage in Washington and the surrounding region across all platforms including Nightly News, The Today Show, NBC News Now, and NBCNews.com.

NBC News is seeking a seasoned, driven Producer to support our Senior Legal Correspondent on all aspects of reporting, storytelling, and live programming. This producer will work closely with the Correspondent to pitch, develop and execute compelling journalism on a range of topics and issues, including the Supreme Court, important state and local cases, constitutional challenges, high-profile criminal cases and significant legal challenges and/or developments.
