OVERVIEW The role is to work with the Chief International Counsel, International and the rest of the Versant International Legal Team located in London, Belfast and Singapore. This is a broad role as the remit spans legal work for Versant’s International News brands (CNBC, MS NOW and E!), including supporting their commercial and editorial activities, and includes ad hoc work for the direct to consumer and ‘b2b’ GolfNow products and services.

The Role Preferably based in Los Angeles, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of music clearance, payments, contract administration, and tracking experience, preferably at a media company. This role is ideal for a music profession who thrives in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. This candidate will need cue sheet reporting, analysis and review along with knowledge of music licensing and clearance. This candidate brings a positive can do attitude to the role, and a self-starter.

As a key member of the Legal Privacy team, this role will enable our business to develop and execute innovative data-driven strategies in accordance with data privacy and related laws. The successful candidate will effectively partner cross-functionally to provide expert and pragmatic counseling to senior leaders and provide leadership and subject matter expertise to drive the implementation of Versant's data privacy and information security programs. This role offers the unique opportunity to build the privacy and data security operations of a newly formed media company.

This role will provide strategic and practical legal counsel to the Company’s Human Resources professionals and business executives regarding employment laws and support the overall employment legal group, as well as negotiate and draft employment agreements. This will be a key role as we build a legal employment group for a newly formed media company, Versant Media.

The VP/Senior Counsel – Distribution Legal role will provide advice and support with respect to the negotiation and management of Versant’s distribution relationships for its portfolio of linear and digital properties.

The role of Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs reports to the Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, and is part of a team responsible for providing business and legal affairs services for scripted and unscripted programming, content acquisitions and live entertainment across Versant’s portfolio of television entertainment networks, including USA Network, Oxygen, E! and SYFY.
